No parties for Pooh on New Year's Eve. Thing2, PoohBro, and I just got back home with 30 minutes to spare in the year. We decided to go see ROTK tonight, and were quite surprised at how many people were at the movies. The parking lot was packed. Apparently we weren't the only losers not paying attention to the ball or whatever.

Quick rant: Popcorn should be banned from theaters. Either that or people need to learn to chew with their mouths closed. And not eat like they haven't had a meal in months. We had to change seats after the previews because the family sitting behind us kept talking, wolfing down their popcorn, and chewing quickly and loudly. Ugh. Not something we wanted to deal with for 3 and a half hours. Previews - the real reason I go to the theater instead of just waiting for dvds - were eh. I'm not too impressed with Spiderman 2 (even if you take out the PoohAnnoyance factor for Tobey and Kirsten). Is that... wrong?

PoohThoughts on the movie....
After I got past all the HoYay (everywhere... Every. Where. There was no chemistry whatsoever between Aragorn and Arwen. Ptooey! Bring on the HoYay! I will, however, give non-HoYay love to Eowyn/Faramir because they were a pretty good-looking couple), it was gasps of wow, and squees of cool, and lots of drooling and stuff. And then I cried. A lot. Like, embarrassing amounts in the last hour. Why? Because I'm a freak who tears up at cool characters dying and people saying farewell to each other. It's even worse when the cool characters are saying farewell while they're dying. *sniffle* Okay, y'all can just shut up and stop laughing now. The sibs teased me already, and I know for a fact that PoohBro got teary during at least one scene. Hrmph.

The final assessment (just because Onesy would hurt me for not snarking it -- sweetie, this one's for you. Hee.)...
Theoden was way too cool. Eomer rocks. Faramir was hot. Love love love Gandalf. Oh yeah, and Aragorn was frelling sex-ay! Someone give that man the Oscar! 'Cuz you know... hotness=bestest acting ever! Woohoo!

*snert*

Bring on the extended version!

P.S. I almost fell on my ass when I tried to stand up right after the movie. Couldn't feel my legs after sitting down for that long. Heh.

Hmm. As I finish typing this, the new year has come on the East coast. Bust out the bubbly, dude.
